OPERATION SCHOOL BELL\u00ae<\/sup><\/h3>\n

Operation School Bell is the program that all chapters within Assistance League fund and maintain. \u00a0Elementary and middle school students are selected by school personnel to receive new clothing for school. \u00a0The program in our chapter is unique because of our strong partnership with JC Penney’s, our local department store. \u00a0Students, their parents, and\u00a0 Assistance League of Visalia volunteers come to a clothing event at Penney’s to shop for clothing appropriate for school.\u00a0 \u00a0The VUSD personnel are often treated to a “fashion show” when students wear their new clothing to school for the first time. \u00a0Assistance League of Visalia \u00a0members are touched by the joy in the faces of the children and their parents.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1476851292261{padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”5196″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”5277″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”5350″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_custom_heading text=”Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Assistance League has altered the clothing events to afterschool appointments for families recommended by their school’s staff. Families are met by Assistance League volunteers and shop for new clothing for school. \nchecking in families for the event,
\nhelping families shop,
\nbarcoding items to determine prices and totals,
\nhelping families with check out,
\ngiving students a hygiene kit.
