2018 Leadership Training Facts
Fees: Leadership Training fees are $550 for the President and Treasurer Tracks and $275 for the Assisteens Coordinator Track. The fee includes the following training expenses:
- Round-trip airfare or reimbursement at $.54 cents per mile for those who drive
- 3 nights’ accommodation at the hotel, double occupancy
- Meal package
- Educational materials
Assistance League allows one registration per track per chapter. For additional attendees, see below.
Travel Arrangements: Please plan to make your own airline reservations, keeping in mind that reduced fares are available mid-week and other times. Some travel websites like Kayak, Bing and others offer flight fare predictors. Google Flights and the Hopper app are other options to find low cost fares into Los Angeles International Airport. Assistance League national office will reimburse you for your round trip airfare providing you purchase your ticket at least 30 days in advance. If the ticket price exceeds $450 you must receive prior authorization from the Treasurer before you book. To receive approval, email Treasurer@AssistanceLeague.org.
Schedule: Leadership Training begins promptly at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, with breakfast served prior to the first session. If you are a President and choose to arrive on May 22, please arrive early enough to have your President’s photo taken, sign your marketing and affiliation agreements, and input your Board roster information. The photographer will not be available after 9 a.m. on Tuesday so if you miss the photos you will be responsible for providing Assistance League with a photo to be used at the 2019 Conference. Training will end at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Please do not book your return flight to leave until after 1:00 p.m.
Fly into LAX (Los Angeles International Airport)
Many low cost, direct flights are available to this airport and almost every airline has flights scheduled in and out of LAX. The hotel has a no cost airport shuttle. See the airport shuttle button on the web site.
Hotel Reservations: Are made through the registration process. Do not contact the hotel directly. Your room will be reserved by Assistance League national office. If you want a single room, you will be responsible for half of the hotel rate ($70 per night plus tax). The single room supplement will be due at check-out.
Registration: Opens online at AssistanceLeague.org beginning March 1, 2018. Click on the Registration button and go to the registration page. Click Register Now. Registration closes on April 13. Check-in is 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, May 21, and 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22.
Cancellation Policy: In order to receive a refund of cancellation fees, cancellations must be received by kim@assistanceleague.org by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 20. A processing fee of 25% will be deducted from the refund.
Additional Attendees: Should a chapter wish to send an additional attendee to one of the tracks, they will be accepted on a space available basis and will be notified after April 15. Contact Kim@assistanceleague.org to register your additional attendees. The fee will be $550 for the President and Treasurer tracks and $275 for Assisteens. Airfare and hotel charges will be the responsibility of the attendee and the additional attendee is not eligible for reimbursement by the national office.
