- +Goal
- To assist in the development of CONNECT2019 and create an environment within CONNECT2019 that all attendees will enjoy.
- +Purpose
- To give advice, recommendations, and support the members’ experiential components of CONNECT2019. To create ambassadors within Assistance League community of members. To give the Programming Committee and CONNECT2019 committee a “sounding board” for ideas suggested. To give a “read” on what Assistance League members think of CONNECT2019 and the planning for same.
- +What is an experiential component?
- These elements provide a wrap-around to the educational elements of the conference. They include items such as activities before, after and between sessions, food selections, networking opportunities, entertainment and décor.
- +Who and how many will be asked to be on the committee?
- Knowledgeable Assistance League members from all parts of the country who have attended many past national conferences
- Some members who may have attended just one national conference.
- Chapter Presidents who are leading their Chapter for the first time and want to see new topics and sessions … Thinking BIG and acting BOLD.
- Past Assistance League members returning to Chapter work. Members of the Leadership team could be on this committee and/or the Program Advisory Committee.
There will be 5 members on this committee.
- +When/how should the committee meet?
- Via phone: Monthly beginning September 5
*Maybe joining the committee at meetings in January 2019. Many members may want to help execute the activities at conference on September 4-5-6-7 in Las Vegas.
- +Benefits to Member Advisory Committee members
- The committee members will have a better understanding of what it takes to create and execute CONNECT2019. They will be involved in the atmosphere of inclusiveness within the Assistance League membership. They will receive a huge Thank You and recognition at CONNECT2019. If selected, their registration for CONNECT2019 will be complimentary.
- +Scope of work
- Provide recommendations on activities between sessions, food and beverage options, entertainment, and décor. Examples:
- Networking opportunities – such as coffee stations, no host bar
- Fun events to be held – entertainment in the evenings
- Food and beverage options – help select menu items
- Décor – ways to make the space interesting and engaging
- Activities – yoga session, fitness walk, game night, dine around
- General session lunch – discuss potential speakers and give to Programming committee
- Evaluate options and work within budget parameters
- Discuss and plan logistical elements
- Keynote speakers/Plenary Speakers – What do members want to hear …. give ideas?
- Brown Bag lunches – topics?
